We can plan the best tour for you because we have the practical knowledge on ground level as we have worked as a tour guide for decades and saw what difficulties our guests face during their tour and keep all those things in mind while designing a tour. This is what makes us different from all other travel companies. We take you deep into Indian Culture and Tradition. We believe in excellence and show it by conducting our services in the utmost professional manner. We love our profession and try to provide the best travel value available for you and for your family. We have served more than (one hundred thousand guests) from all around the world and are still serving our best. We have also served our services to Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers, Actors and Actresses, Celebrities etc. We are better than Tour and Travel portals because Tour and Travel Portals work on commission basis. Anyone can list their tour on these portals even if they do not have enough experience or knowledge. Portals have a fixed itinerary whereas you can change or extend your itinerary if you book a tour with an experienced website.

Taj Mahal Tour Portals and other Tours Portals provide you contact information of the tour operator after you have paid the amount and booked the tour. Then you do not have any option but to complete the tour with the same travel agent whom the portal has chosen even if they are not capable of providing good services. They also do click bait by giving you less price but it is also a very big scam due to which the amount you have spent on your flights, hotels, cars and other things for a memorable tour go in vain. So it is better to choose a tour directly from an experienced travel agent with whom you can query before paying. We Taj Mahal Tour Guide Family Group are committed and accountable to provide best services to all our clients as we have been doing this to maintain our three decades legacy in this industry as responsible travel service providers.

A Short story about - Shafeek Khan

Shafeek Khan, Govt. Approved Tourist Guide

Shafeek Khan

(Tour Guide & Founder of:
TajMahalTourGuideFamilyGroup)

Approved by Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh, India

My name is Shafeek Khan. I was born on July 12, 1980, in Agra, India. I have been working as a Government-Approved Professional Tour Guide in Agra since 2005. I hold an official tour guide license issued by the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh (India).

I am a graduate of Agra University and have also earned a Chinese language certification from Delhi University. In addition, I completed a professional training program at the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, which is recognized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

How I came in Tourism Trade?

I come from a middle-class family. My father was a serviceman, and my mother is a homemaker. He worked tirelessly to provide us with a quality education. From a young age, I was deeply interested in becoming a tour guide, largely because many members of my family—including my uncle, both my younger and elder brothers, cousins, and even my nephew—have all pursued careers as licensed tour guides in India. They are certified by the Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Government of India, and the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh .

I often say that tour guiding is our family profession. For over two decades, my entire family has been actively involved in the tourism industry as professional guides. This rich family background gave me early exposure and a strong foundation in the field.

I began my first assignment on December 2, 2005, guiding Mr. & Mrs. Jean Pierre from France. I was quite nervous while explaining the history of Fatehpur Sikri and the Taj Mahal, but the experience turned out to be invaluable. The couple was supportive, and their kind feedback boosted my confidence tremendously. I thoroughly enjoyed their company during the sightseeing tour.

After that experience, I dedicated myself to studying the in-depth history of the Mughal Empire, monument architecture, and the rich cultural and traditional heritage of India.

One day, a guest asked me a thought-provoking question about the Taj Mahal . He was already well-versed in Islamic architecture and posed a query: Why is the crescent moon atop the dome of the Taj Mahal positioned upright, whereas in Islamic tradition, it's typically represented in a curved form? At that moment, I didn't have a proper answer, as I lacked the specific information. I respectfully told him I would research it and get back to him with a complete explanation.

That evening, after the sightseeing tour, I began digging through architectural books to find the answer. Even after two days of research, I couldn't find a satisfying explanation. So, I turned to my uncle and elder brothers—veteran tour guides since 1985 with deep expertise in Indian history and architecture. During dinner, I presented the question. My uncle explained that the Taj Mahal is built in the style of a mausoleum, and the pinnacle on the dome is about 10 meters high and solid in structure . If the crescent moon were placed in a curved position, the weight and structure would eventually damage the dome. Hence, the moon is fixed in a straight position for architectural stability.

Once I had the answer, I emailed the full explanation to the guest. That moment not only strengthened my knowledge but also made me feel proud of my family's legacy in tourism. Inspired by this, I deepened my understanding of every corner of Agra and Fatehpur Sikri . Today, I consider myself deeply connected with the soul of India. Through my tours, I strive to offer travelers a meaningful cultural experience, taking them beyond monuments and into the heart of Indian tradition and history, which I've come to know intimately over the years.
