Weather in Agra

The climate in Agra offers great variations season to season, with extremely hot weather, periods of heavy rainy weather, and cooler spells during the winter months. Many people choose to visit during its appealing winter months, when the climate is at its best, with warm and sunny days, but periods of fog can be expected.

Agra experiences a typical North Indian climate , with hot summers , mild winters , and a monsoon season in between.

  • Summer (March to June): Temperatures can soar above 40°C (104°F) , especially in May and June. It's hot and dry, so carry sunscreen, water, and light cotton clothes.

  • Monsoon (July to September): Expect occasional rainfall and humidity , but it's a refreshing break from the heat. Great for lush views of the Taj Mahal, though roads can get muddy.

  • Winter (October to February): The best time to visit! Days are pleasant ( 8°C to 25°C / 46°F to 77°F ) with clear skies, perfect for sightseeing. Early mornings can be foggy.
